SILAT ZULFIKARI
LONG DISTANCE ACADEMY AND INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMShaykh Taner has ordered the creation of a distance-learning program in Silat Zulfikari for interested murids and friends around the world. This program will take the student through all seven levels of Silat Zulfikari in a steady logical progression. The distance-learning program is video based, and for those who wish instruction, memberships in the program are available that allow for feedback and personal instruction through video as well as other support.
Formal membership In the Silat Zulfikari Long Distance Learning Programs entitles you to a ten dollar discount on each video, a 20% discount for all seminars and the right to send in three tapes a year (every four months) of yourself performing the material for personal critique by return tape.
Formal membership also gives direct support through e-mail for your questions as well as technical support in setting up study groups.
The cost of membership is $100.00 US per year.
Rank recognition is through Kapatiran Suntukan Martial Arts an international organization dedicated to supporting the highest level of martial practice in a non-commercial, non-political way.

LONG DISTANCE ACADEMY AND INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMIn the interest of spreading the teachings of Silat Zulfikari Pusaka Tariqa Qadiri-Rifa’i we are happy to introduce two important programs. The first of which is the Long Distance Academy and the second is the Instructor Development Program. Participation in either program will require a great deal of discipline on the part of the student. We will help you in any way that we can to be successful in this endeavor.
The Long Distance Academy
This is the program that is available for interested students who do not have immediate access to a certified instructor. The components of this program are: The rank requirement video series, the online school, seminars and personal training.

The online school follows the Silat Zulfikari curriculum in greater detail and covers various aspects of extra-curricular studies as well. This membership will make available to you weekly lessons in Silat Zulfikari as well as immediate access to an instructor.

In addition the host will be given three hours of private instruction free of charge.You can access the personal training in three different ways. Private classes at seminars or immersion training sessions held either at your location or here at the Grand Rapids, Arusha or Taiwan schools

1) Private classes. These classes are one on one sessions that focus on the needed aspects of Silat Zulfikari for the student. Private classes cost $65.00 per hour. Special rates can be negotiated for blocks of private classes.
2) Immersion training sessions, local. Local immersion training can be scheduled for 3 or 5 day blocks. The three day block consists of 3 6 hour days. Cost: $300.00. The five day block consists of 5 6 hour days. Cost: $500.00. The participants of this program are free to video tape the sessions.
3) Immersion training sessions, outside. This particular program brings a Silat Zulfikari instructor to you! You have the choice of a 3 or 5 day block. The three day block of instruction consists of 3 6 hour days. Cost: $400.00 plus travel and lodging. The five day block of instruction consists of 5 6 hour days. Cost $600.00 plus travel and lodging.All three of these options are hard driving knowledge packed sessions. Very valuable training. Through these programs one can begin their progress or continue progress in Silat Zulfikari. These programs are also useful in starting a local training group in Silat Zulfikari.
The immersion training sessions can be scheduled for private or group. Groups should not exceed four people without prior arrangement. Regardless of the number of people involved, 1-4, the price remains the same. This is a good way to spread the cost out and thereby increase the value to each person.
Certificates of training will be issued to each participant. If a study group is formed a certificate of authority will be assigned to the group.INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
This program is designed to aid the student accepted to this program in achieving full instructorship. This is a hard path. The understanding of the art and the methodologies of instructing will have to much greater than the average practitioner of Silat Zulfikari.
To this end we will assist the participant in developing the necessary understanding of teaching methodologies, the psychology of instruction, organizational behavior, lesson plans, curriculum and of course further development, personally, in the art of Silat Zulfikari.The title and position of Pangajar can be awarded to the program participant after the completion of level two. This will enable the participant to form a study group under the Silat Zulfikari banner. The leader of this group will not have the authority to award rank in the art of Silat Zulfikari. Regardless the pangajar’s recommendation will be taken into high consideration for the awarding of rank. The Pangajar will need to be part of the testing board for the promotion of members of his study group.
The requirements of participation in this program are: acceptance of the candidate’s application, direct training with a certified Silat Zulfikari instructor at least twice a year, regular contact with a certified instructor, participation in the Silat Zulfikari online course and purchase and use of the rank requirement videos.
